«Падение империи» – это кинокартина, наполненная экшен-сценами разрушений и многочисленных сражений. Поклонники фильмов-катастроф по типу нашумевших боевиков «2012» или «9/11» точно по достоинству оценят работу видного британского сценариста и режиссёра Алекса Гарленда, известного своими фильмами в жанре фантастики «Из машины» и «28 недель спустя».
Изначально картина имела название «Гражданская война», и её сюжет долго находился под завесом тайны. Сам Алекс Гарленд определил данную киноработу как научно-фантастическую аллегорию, нацеленную на формирование дискуссии, которая в последнее время не может возникнуть из-за поляризованных настроений.
На производство фильма «Падение империи» было потрачено много средств, а именно 75 миллионов долларов, и на данный момент он является самым дорогостоящим не только у компании А24, но и в карьере самого Алекса Гарленда.
В широкий прокат фильм выходит 11 апреля.
