Фестиваль проходит при поддержке Президентского фонда культурных инициатив.
Первое событие фестиваля – открытие фотовыставки «Репетиция – любовь моя» на Никитском бульваре, приуроченной к 100-летию А.В. Эфроса: 31 театр Москвы представит уникальные фотографии репетиций премьерных спектаклей. Выставка работает с 15 октября.
17 октября стартует конкурсная программа фестиваля – первым спектаклем станет постановка «Пуф, или Ложь и истина» в Театре Вахтангова, режиссер Ася Князева. В тот же день, 17 октября, в 13.00 в ТАСС пройдет пресс-конференция.
Фестиваль продлится с октября по декабрь. На главных театральных площадках Москвы – лучшие премьерные спектакли молодых режиссеров России. В программе 15 постановок, которые представят театры из Барнаула, Верхнего Уфалея, Казани, Лесосибирска, Москвы, Омска, Санкт-Петербурга, Самары, Сергиева Посада. Режиссеры-участники – яркие имена современного театра, как уже полюбившиеся столичному зрителю, так и новые для Москвы: Татевик Григорян, Фамил Джавадов, Дарья Догадова, Илья Зайцев, Саша Золотовицкий, Ася Князева, Владимир Комаров, Дмитрий Крестьянкин, Тимур Кулов, Александр Локтионов, Ярослав Морозов, Дмитрий Мульков, Федор Пшеничный, Сергей Тонышев. В жюри – мэтры режиссуры: Алексей Бородин, Георгий Исаакян, Евгений Марчелли, Владимир Панков, Искандер Сакаев, Валерий Фокин.
В рамках внеконкурсной программы к 80-летию Победы в Великой Отечественной войне будет представлен спектакль «Живые картины блокады» театра-фестиваля «Балтийский дом». Постановка основана на документальных свидетельствах – воспоминаниях, письмах, дневниках – жителей блокадного Ленинграда, сотрудников Эрмитажа, которые сохраняли экспонаты музея, перевозили коллекцию в Свердловск, заботились о детях в эрмитажном интернате, выезжали к раненым и читали лекции об искусстве.
Тема образовательного проекта фестиваля «Мастерская» – «Репетиция – любовь моя». Лекции и мастер-классы проведут режиссеры, актеры, театроведы, драматурги: Николай Цискаридзе, Владимир Панков, Полина Агуреева, Ольга Яковлева, Александр Гельман и др.
Также в off-программе «Уроков режиссуры» пройдут две лаборатории – критиков и драматургов – и круглый стол, который объединит молодых режиссеров и опять же драматургов и критиков, что продолжает главный принцип фестиваля – создавать пространство профессионального диалога. В рамках проекта «Библиотека Биеннале театрального искусства» будет издан III том издания «Письма в Художественный театр». Совместно с издательством Navona фестиваль примет участие в книжной выставке-ярмарке non/fiction.
Завершатся «Уроки режиссуры» торжественной церемонией награждения, где победителям по традиции будет вручен грант на постановку. Так за годы фестиваля на российской сцене появилось уже 10 спектаклей, среди которых «Леопольдштадт» (РАМТ, реж. Алексей Бородин), «Как Фауст ослеп» (Сатирикон, реж. Сергей Тонышев), «Иммануил Ч.» (Лесосибирский театр «Поиск», реж. Виктория Печерникова) и др.

«Первые участники «Уроков режиссуры» за эти девять лет выросли в капитанов театральных кораблей, встав у штурвалов театров Москвы и Санкт-Петербурга, Казани и Астрахани. А в сегодняшней фестивальной программе – новые имена молодых режиссеров. Недавние выпускники уверенно выходят на авансцену культурного пространства. Приносят с собой новые ритмы и новые формы. Открывают новых авторов и возвращают авторов забытых. В программе – комедии и драмы, сказки и документальный театр, многофигурные спектакли и спектакли малых форм, постановки по Шекспиру, Гоголю, Горькому, Александру Грину, Нодару Думбадзе, Александру Беляеву, Леониду Филатову… Спектакли из российских столиц и малых городов».
